Juliana Kanyomozi urges women to celebrate themselves instead of taking part in the Iryn Battle in place of her.

Kanyomozi and Iryn Namubiru are not in competition.

The two were members of the now-disbanded girl singing ensemble I-Jay.

That’s not really my cup of tea. I can’t fight somebody, but I think fighting is a good method to argue a point. We don’t have anything to show, Iryn and I.

Perhaps as a woman, I want to be respected. There might be more than only Iryn; there might be others as well. But I don’t like to fight,” Juliana stated.

At Kololo Independence Grounds on September 15, Sheebah and Cindy participated in a music competition. Who would triumph was unclear to Juliana.

Two of my friends are Cindy and Sheebah. Juliana remarked, “I loved both performances, but I’m not sure how the winner was chosen because a battle requires more than just voice alone—it also incorporates dress code, dancing, and other aspects.
Prior to, during, and after battles, she requested that performers refrain from verbal sparring.

Juliana made the remarks while taking in a performance by musician Myko Ouma at the Kampala Serena Hotel on October 6, 2023.

The woman praised Myko’s support of her. Juliana saw that he usually stood by her during live music performances, so she went to his concert to return the favor.
