Ziza Bafana was recently spotted cruising in the sleek, ultra-luxury vehicle, with various media outlets and social media clips confirming the purchase. In the Ugandan entertainment industry, such a “level up” is often seen as a sign of a successful comeback or sustained dominance in the music scene.
The “Price Tag” Reality Check
While the UGX 180 million figure is being widely circulated, there are a few things to keep in mind regarding the actual market value of a Maybach:
New vs. Used: A brand-new 2025/2026 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class typically retails for over $200,000 (approx. UGX 740 million) before taxes.
The 180M Figure: At UGX 180 million (approx. $48,000), the car is likely a used/pre-owned model or a high-end Mercedes S-Class that has been professionally “badged” or modified with a Maybach body kit. In the local market, older luxury models or conversions are common ways to achieve the Maybach look at a more accessible price point.
Taxes: In Uganda, import taxes on luxury vehicles often equal or exceed the car’s original purchase price, making a total cost of 180 million relatively low for a genuine, late-model Maybach.
Regardless of the technicalities, the “Guluma Nasomye” singer is clearly enjoying the luxury. This move follows a trend of Ugandan artists like Eddy Kenzo and Sheebah Karungi investing heavily in premium rides to maintain their “superstar” brand image.
