When I first met him, he wasn’t well-known. He was honest and truthful.
In an interview with Crystal Newman in 2018, Rema remarked, “He was down to earth, by the way; he was easy and he is a very honest guy.
I therefore admired his sincerity. If he does not want to smile, he will not. That’s what I appreciated about him: his candor. He was the real deal. Nothing untrue about him existed. I respect sincere people. I favor actual people… I enjoy that kind of person.
Rema and Kenzo announced their breakup in 2019 after dating for around six years. In a recent interview, the public was made aware of the separation two years ago.
“Most of you weren’t aware of [the breakup] because people around me protect my secrets,” Rema added.
However, it was more than a year—more like two years.
The Ngonze hitmaker moved in with Kenzo in 2013 after breaking up her relationship with her former boss and music manager Bebe Cool.
Her daughter, Aamal Musuuza, was born to her and Kenzo.
Rema also admitted to Crystal Newman that she has only ever dated a performer, Kenzo, and said she wouldn’t want her daughter to be in the entertainment industry.
He was the only person in the industry whom she had ever dated, she revealed. Even my kid working in the industry is something I don’t want.
She needs to develop and leave the business, in my opinion. I don’t even want her to know that I can sing that well. Other things I do will keep her occupied.
Before leaving Kenzo for Dr. Hamza Ssebunya, Rema introduced her family to him at a ceremony conducted at Nabbingo on Masaka Road in November 2019.
Godfrey Kirumira, a businessman who officiated the introduction ceremony, stated in April that they were planning a wedding.
