Young Mulo and Mesach Semakula collide at Clever J’s recent show.
On Friday, August 4, 2023, Clever J hosted his “The Return of Clever J Eddogo Lyafuluka” event at the Lugogo KCCA Grounds in Kampala.
Clever J received backing from a variety of bands, including Mesach Semakula, Spice Diana, Alien Skin, Mikie Wine, Shakira Shakira, and others, despite a low turnout at the show.
The event, however, suddenly devolved into chaos as Young Mulo and acclaimed vocalist Mesach Semakula squabbled over who would perform next.
When Mikie Wine departed the stage after his performance and announced Young Mulo as the next act, the audience erupted.
However, according to the event plan, Mesach Semakula took the stage next and performed his gospel song “Kankutendereze.”
Yung Mulo and his entourage stormed the DJ booth, demanding that Mesach Semakula’s song be removed from the decks so they could play their own.
Mesach Semakula chose to exit the stage rather than face what might have happened next. This necessitated the participation of the stage manager, who implored him not to leave, and Young Mulo and his entourage were pushed off the platform with the assistance of security.
When Mesach was given the microphone again, he said that he would sing one song and then invite Yung Mulo to follow.
