A truck driver and his assistance (turnboy) were killed in a head-on collision involving two cars on the Jinja-Kampala route in Njeru on Friday morning.
The Fuso Fighter (UBB 716F), which was flying from Jinja to Kampala, collided with a petroleum tanker (UAY077A/UAY 928A) that was flying in the opposite way.
According to Ssezibwa Region police spokesman Hellen Butoto, the crash occurred about 5:20 a.m. in Kitigima Village.
The fuel tanker driver and his assistant survived and were sent to Jinja Hospital in critical condition.
