The Busoga Kingdom has anointed Jovia Mutesi as queen following a series of successful rites.
According to a press release from the Prime Minister’s office of the Kingdom, William Wilberforce Gabula Nadiope IV, the Kyabazinga of Busoga, and Queen Mutesi’s wedding are scheduled to take place on November 18, 2023, at Christ Cathedral in Jinja City.
During the ceremony, the King will officially present Queen Mutesi to the Kingdom and the rest of the globe.
According to the release, “It is a historic day for the Busoga people all over the world as I officially announce that we have Her Royal Highness Inhebantu of Busoga following the just-concluded traditional ceremonies earlier in the day that were successfully held.”

King Nadiope attached the Queen’s photo to a quick post on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, in order to unveil her face to the world.

Kyabazingaship candidates run for election in Busoga. The King was initially chosen from among the five Bunyoro-Kitara hereditary chiefs. According to an amendment to the Busoga constitution, all 11 hereditary chiefs are now qualified to contest for Kyabazinga.
