Jackie Chandiru nearly lost her profession after spending a significant amount of time in the hospital owing to her drug addiction.

However, the artist has since recovered completely and is actively participating in projects to prevent and treat youth drug use.

Chandiru also paid a visit to Annet Anita Among, Speaker of Parliament, this week, and the two had a lengthy discussion about the use and risks of drug addiction.

She also congratulated Parliament for enacting the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances (Control) Bill, 2023, which allows for the regulated cultivation and controlled medical use of marijuana.
